A Brief Biography of Xiang Li

Xiang Li is a Ph.D. student, advised by Prof. Jianbing Yan, with National Key Laboratory of Crop Genetic Improvement at Huazhong Agricultural University in Wuhan, China. His work focuses on two fields, plant single cell or nucleus sequencing and transcriptomic dynamics during development. He has developed a method to isolate the four microspores from a single tetrad in maize and firstly dissect meiotic recombination events directly by whole-genome single microspore sequencing, which was published at Nature Communications in 2015. In 2013 and 2014, he has been recognized with Leiao award and Dow AgroSciences award, respectively.
